EARN partners meet in Berlin

The European lawyers’ network EARN, which has been in existence for seven years now, continues to grow: At this year’s meeting of the partner law firms, some new faces were again found among the participants. This year’s host was PASCHEN Rechtsanwälte, which extended an invitation to Berlin on 23 and 24 November 2018.

As every year, the focus of the meeting was on an exchange of expertise and experience, this time concentrating on current EU policy. Attorney Lutz Paschen  gave an overview of the content and current status of the draft EU directive on pre-insolvency restructuring proceedings. Gary Tait, Partner at the new British EARN member Tollers LLP, reported on the planned withdrawal of Great Britain from the EU. He painted an extremely bleak picture of the mood among his compatriots in view of the threat of a disorderly Brexit.

In addition to professional discussions, the EARN meeting also offered plenty of opportunities for informal exchange. Since the cooperation of the EARN partners has been very successful so far and offers significant added value for the clients of the partner law firms, it was agreed that the network should continue to grow in 2019.

The next network meeting is planned for September 2019 in Paris.
